About me
Hello students! My name is Brett. My education includes a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in English Education, both obtained from Piedmont College. I also hold a TEFL Certificate (120 hours).
I have been teaching English, Literature, ESL, and Language Arts for thirteen years. I have taught locally, online, and abroad in China, Mexico, and Dubai. My typical age and grade ranges include Middle School (11 and up) through college and adults. However, I also love working with younger children. In addition, I also have extensive experience in tutoring SAT and ACT Reading and Writing, Test Prep (TOEFL, ASVAB, GED, etc.), editing, and communications. My students have seen significant improvement in their ACT, SAT, and TOEFL scores.
I love tutoring because I work one-on-one with students to meet their needs. Each student is unique, and nothing makes me happier than helping my students achieve their goals. I want to be a valuable resource to those I can help, drawing on my experience as a student and teacher. Furthermore, I want to help them achieve whatever they set out to do. Nothing makes me feel prouder than seeing my students succeed. They teach me as much as I teach them. We learn together!
