About me
Hello! I'm Cari and I specialize in making reading and writing fun! I have spent 15 years helping students ages 5 and up understand English to help them build skills which will foster growth and development in school. Children need to be listened to in order for them to thrive. Children should be able to practice and make mistakes with no judgement so that they learn.
My approach to teaching is using positive reinforcement and keeping energy levels up to keep students focused.
I like to hear what students are saying. I want to know how their day is going. If they need a brain break, a light chat or a puzzle/game can really brighten the beginning of each lesson. The only way to get started is to jump right in and read or write. I will be there to help with pronunciation and comprehension checks.
Lastly, I want all involved to feel included in this learning process. The student should feel celebrated and ready to read and write while the parents should feel better knowing their child is motivated and accomplished. Thank you!
