About me
I am not only hands-on I am tongue-on...You will be in a safe comfortable environment that encourages mistakes and builds rapidly on those mistakes. YOU will do most of the speaking-I am there for you. I do not need to hear myself speak Spanish.I have several advanced degrees in Spanish, ESL and linguistics. I am super familiar with Central American culture and have been a Fulbright Scholar to Nicaragua. I use Spanish in my daily life and in my professional life as a legal consultant. I breathe, eat, dance, and sing the beauty that is the Spanish language. I enjoy dining out in various different Latin establishments and food is a secret passion of mine. I also have an extensive background win working with students that may have special needs, different learning modalities, or learning styles. Patience, humor, and preparation are my foundation and strength. Come to learn--stay to laugh and celebrate life. I have family in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and many friends in Panama. I was born in the Bronx and English is my first language. I was a national speech contest winner in high school. I am also an avid fan of Irish history and I am a dual citizen of Ireland and the United States. I have a number of four-legged fur babies and some are rescues. Baseball is my favorite sport. As you can see I am ready to converse and teach the necessary expressions and vocabulary for a wide range of topics.
