Hi! I’m Trang, an experienced elementary educator and instructional designer with approximately eight years of teaching, tutoring, virtual teaching, and curriculum-development experience. I’m passionate about helping children develop strong academic foundations while building confidence and a positive relationship with learning. I have taught Kindergarten and 1st grade and have experience supporting students across the elementary years in reading, phonics, ELA, and math. I provide individualized online tutoring through engaging, supportive lessons that are tailored to each student’s current skills, learning goals, and areas of need. In reading and phonics, I can support students with foundational literacy skills, phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and developing confidence as readers. For ELA, I can help students strengthen writing, grammar, language skills, comprehension, and overall communication. For elementary math, I can support students with number sense, addition and subtraction, place value, multiplication and division, fractions, problem solving, mathematical reasoning, and other foundational skills. I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind the math rather than simply memorizing procedures. I also have experience developing curriculum and creating original educational resources for elementary students. As a TPT seller, I create math and literacy resources designed to give students meaningful opportunities to practice important skills. This curriculum-development experience allows me to bring purposeful activities and differentiated practice into tutoring sessions. My teaching style is encouraging, patient, and student-centered. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and when lessons are appropriately challenging without becoming overwhelming. I take time to understand what a student already knows, identify areas where they need additional support.
