Every student learns differently—and sometimes the biggest challenge isn't that a child "can't" learn something, but that no one has figured out the right path for that student to understand it. As an experienced classroom teacher and tutor, I believe in getting to know the learner before simply teaching the lesson. I take the time to discover what a student understands, where the gaps are, how they think, and what is getting in the way of success. Then we build from there.
My goal isn't just to help students finish tonight's assignment. **It's to build the foundation that allows them to become more confident, capable, independent learners.** Whether your child needs help with reading comprehension, phonics, writing, English, history, test preparation, or math and science through middle school, I focus on understanding the *why* behind the work—not just memorizing the *what*. Mistakes are part of learning, questions are encouraged, and progress matters more than perfection.
Most importantly, I want students to leave tutoring thinking, **“I can do this.”**
