Is it possible to mark all angles with a single letter?
This is not possible owing to the fact that the two angles that are divided within angle BAD are:
BAC and CAD.
No
a is parallel to b.
Calculate the angles shown in the diagram.
Only when there's just one angle at a vertex! If you have multiple rays coming from point A, creating several angles, you need three-letter notation like ∠BAC or ∠CAD to be specific.
That would be confusing and mathematically incorrect! Imagine telling someone 'measure angle A' - they wouldn't know which of the two angles you mean. Each angle needs its own unique name.
Put the vertex in the middle! For angle BAC: B is on one ray, A is the vertex, C is on the other ray. The middle letter is always where the angle 'lives'.
The same rule applies! With 4 rays from vertex A, you might have angles like ∠BAC, ∠CAD, ∠DAE, etc. Never use single letters when multiple angles share a vertex.
Sometimes you can use numbers or Greek letters (α, β, γ) to label angles, but you still need to be clear about which angle each symbol represents. Three-letter notation is always the safest choice!
