In this exercise, it is not possible to use the substitution property, therefore we solve it as is from left to right according to the order of arithmetic operations.
That is, we first solve the multiplication exercise and then we add:
\( 74+32+6+4+4=\text{?} \)
Mathematics has a special order called PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction). Without this order, everyone would get different answers for the same problem!
Remember the phrase "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" for PEMDAS. Always do multiplication and division first, then addition and subtraction from left to right.
Look for multiplication (×) and addition (+) signs. Since multiplication comes before addition in PEMDAS, do first, then add 7 to that result.
If you did 11+(3+7)=11+10=21, you'd get the wrong answer! The order matters because multiplication has higher priority than addition in mathematical expressions.
