New beginnings can be challenging, especially the ones with long-term impact. Choosing a private tutor for your child is one of them. Starting to teach on a new platform is another. Both usually come with a bit of uncertainty and a long list of questions: How do I find the right tutor? What happens after I send a request? How does an online lesson actually work? When and how do I get paid? It takes time to learn your way around, and nobody enjoys waiting for an answer just when they are trying to get started.
To make those first steps a little easier, we are happy to introduce something new on Tutorela: the Help Center. It is a support area with short, practical articles that explain how the site works, both from the student's side and from the tutor's side. You can now learn the whole process at your own pace, and solve many of the questions that come up on your own, without waiting for a reply from our support team.
Where to find the Help Center
Open Support & Info in the main menu at the top of any page and choose Help Center, or go straight to tutorela.com/help. From there you pick your side, Students or Tutors, and every article is grouped into clear topics so you can browse or jump right to what you need.
What's inside
The Help Center launches with 40 articles: 15 for students and families, and 25 for tutors. Each one focuses on a single question and walks through the answer step by step, with screenshots of the actual screens wherever it helps.
For students and families
Finding a tutor, lessons and payment
For tutors
Signing up, your profile, online lessons and getting paid
Students will find the full journey, from the first search to the first lesson. Say you are a parent looking for a private physics tutor for a high schooler who is struggling with mechanics: the student articles explain how to send that first request, what a tentative lesson date means, what to do if the tutor has not made contact yet, and how to join the lesson when the day comes.
Tutors get the same clarity on their side of the process: how to register and get your profile approved, how students reach you, how to run a lesson with Google Meet or the Zoom app, and how payment and commission work once the lesson is over.
Built from your questions
We did not write these articles in a vacuum. They are based on the main processes on the site, and just as much on the questions you have been sending us in recent months. If a question kept landing in our inbox, there is a good chance it now has its own article. That also means the Help Center is a living resource: as new questions come in, we will keep adding and improving articles.
Getting the most out of it
- Search first: type a few words about your question into the search box and the matching articles come up right away.
- Browse by topic: each side is split into sections (for tutors, for example: signing up, your profile and account, online lessons, getting paid by students), so you can read through a whole stage of the process.
- Follow the related articles: many articles point to the next logical question, so one answer can lead you through the full flow.
- Tell us if it helped: at the end of every article you can answer "Was this article helpful?". It takes one click, and it shows us exactly which articles need more work.
Didn't find your answer?
Something missing? Did we skip an important question, or are you dealing with an issue that is specific to your account? Our support team is still here for you. Reach out through the contact form and we will get back to you, usually within one business day. We are happy to help with anything, big or small.
Send it to us, and it might become the next Help Center article.
And if you are ready to take that first step, the Help Center will be right there with you. Visit the Help Center or start looking for a tutor.
