Great news, you received a lesson request on the platform :)
The notification about the request arrives by SMS and/or email, according to the preferences set in your account. It's best to respond quickly to increase the chance that the lesson goes ahead.
Here's the order of steps:
- Log in to the platform and click "Get student details" to accept the request and reveal the lesson and student details. At the same time, your details are shared with the student.
- After accepting the request, call the student back as soon as possible, to align on the lesson topics, confirm the request is relevant, set a final date for the first lesson, and guide the student to enter a payment method or agree on an alternative payment method (e.g., a mobile payment app or bank transfer).
- The request appears automatically as a lesson in your calendar. This is not the final date, so it's important to update the lesson date after you've spoken with the student.
- To update the date: in the calendar, click "Reschedule" and select the correct date and time.
- To cancel the request if it's not relevant: click the "Cancel" button and enter the reason.
- When the lesson time arrives, go to the calendar and start the lesson by clicking the "Start lesson" button. Two options will open for choosing the software you'll use to deliver the lesson. (See: Delivering an online lesson)
- After the lesson ends:
- If you chose card payment (See: Receiving card payments from students), you can collect payment from the student directly through the calendar. The payment amount is transferred directly from the student's card to your account with the payment provider.
- If you chose to receive payment directly from the student (See: Receiving payment directly from students), you need to report the amount you received and the actual lesson time.
The option to collect payment or report a received payment appears under "Tasks" after you finish the lesson.
Important: The platform is a marketplace of independent, freelance private tutors. Issuing a receipt / tax invoice to the student is the tutor's responsibility.
